Daniel Sas
Seattle, United States
Hi, I'm Daniel Sas. I was born in Romania, where my family had to escape communism; we made our way to Vancouver, Canada and later to Las Vegas. I went back to Canada for university, studying to be an Orthodox priest like my father and three older brothers, and after seminary I followed my passion for art into tattooing. I started tattooing in Vancouver in 2010, worked several shops, then packed everything into one suitcase and tattooed my way through Europe, followed by Miami and Minneapolis, where I met my wife, Julie. We have worked together since 2018 and opened two private studios before opening West Seattle Tattoo. I have worked on two continents and in six countries, and won a few awards along the way. I focus on black-and-grey realism and portraits of people and animals, custom work drawn from film, music, culture and sports, and cover-ups and reworks of old tattoos.
