Privacy Policy

Plain-language privacy policy: what TatSeek collects, why, who else is involved, and what you can ask us to do.

If you are browsing

  • No advertising or cross-site tracking. We do not run ads, sell data or use advertising cookies.
  • Our own visit counter. We count page views and whether they come from a person, an AI assistant or a crawler, using the browser type, the referring page and, for AI assistants, the page they opened. To avoid counting the same view twice, a one-way hash of the IP address and browser string is kept for up to five minutes and then discarded. The statistics themselves are totals — they contain no IP addresses.
  • Site statistics by Jetpack. Aggregated visit statistics are provided by Jetpack (Automattic).
  • Images and maps. Photos are delivered through Automattic’s image CDN, and the studio map loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Like any web server, these services receive your IP address and browser information to deliver the files.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page, browser) for security and troubleshooting.
  • Links out. Links to Google Maps, Instagram, WhatsApp, studio websites and similar take you to services with their own privacy policies.

If you contact us

When you email us or use the contact form we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply and to act on your request (a correction, a removal, a claim). We keep them as long as needed for that.

If you have a studio or artist account

We store your username, email address, a securely hashed password and the profile information you enter. Profile details you publish — business name, address, hours, prices, portfolio — are public by design. Signing in uses the essential cookies WordPress needs to keep you logged in.

Public business information

Studio and artist listings may be built from publicly available business information. The studio or artist can claim the listing, correct it, or ask for it to be removed. Claim a profile.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@tatseek.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights; we honour those requests wherever they come from.

Children

TatSeek is intended for adults. Tattooing minors is restricted or prohibited in most places, and the site is not directed at children.

Changes

If what we collect or how we use it changes, this page will change first, with a new date below.
