Where was this tattoo done?

This tattoo was done at Apollo Tattoo Studio, 2625 Main St, Santa Monica, CA 90405.

How painful is a hand tattoo?

Hand: Brutal on our 5-step pain scale — bone near the surface and skin that flexes constantly. Pain is personal, and long sessions, stress and bleeding make it feel worse.

How long does it take to heal, and will people see it?

The surface usually looks healed in 2–4 weeks; the skin keeps settling for a few months. On the hand healing is harder (constant washing and use), and it is always visible.

How will a tattoo like this age?

Thin lines and soft colour are the first things to soften with years of sun and skin renewal — more so when the piece is small or sits on a hand, finger or ankle. Going a little bigger, bolder outlines and daily sunscreen keep it readable longer; a touch-up after some years is normal.

Can I get this exact design?

Use it as a reference. Most artists adapt a design to your body and their own style rather than copy another person’s tattoo line for line — and if you want this artist’s look, the best option is to book this artist.
