True Love Tattoo & Art Gallery is a tattoo shop and art gallery on East Pine Street in Seattle's Capitol Hill. It was founded in 2011 by tattooer and artist George Long, who still tattoos there. The space doubles as a gallery with rotating exhibitions by local artists.
The studio calls itself gay-owned and LGBTQIA-friendly, and says its aim is a relaxed, judgement-free place where every identity and orientation is welcome. It is open every day from 1 pm to 9 pm. Walk-ins are welcome when an artist is free, there are flash books to browse, and the shop runs flash days such as Friday the 13th events.
Fifteen resident artists cover American traditional and neo-traditional, Japanese-influenced work, woodcut and engraving styles, illustrative colour, black and grey, fine line, watercolour, anime and cartoon tattoos. Each artist publishes an hourly rate on the studio's deposit store, from $100 to $200 per hour plus sales tax.
To book, clients pick an artist and arrange a free consultation of about 30 minutes, which often includes a price estimate. Deposits run from $75 up to one hour of tattoo time, are non-refundable and are deducted at the last session; changes need 48 hours' notice. Clients must be 18 or older and bring a valid ID.
